North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong on Monday paid floral tribute at Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Raj Ghat.
Earlier in the day, Ri Su Yong called on Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari in the national capital.
Ri is also expected to meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, with reports stating that the North Korean Minister will brief his Indian counterpart on his country's nuclear programme. He is also expected to request India to augment its foreign aid, especially in the education and culture sectors.
In 2011, New Delhi had reportedly provided Pyongyang with assistance worth USD one million through the World Food Programme.
