A drone strike by the U.S. in the Dattakhel area of North Waziristan has reportedly killed five persons.

The identity of those killed is yet to be ascertained even as they are suspected to be militants of foreign origin.

In an earlier air strike, Pakistan Air Force has reportedly killed at least 30 "suspected militants" in Datta Khel, Marsikhel and Kamsham areas of the province according to a press release of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Air strikes continue to be the predominant strategy for Operation Zarb-e-Azb launched by the Pakistan Army to flush out militants from its frontier province North Waziristan.

The Pakistan government that has remained consistently critical of drone strikes by the US is now allowing its own forces to use similar weapons of mass destruction even as the ground operation is on.

The latest drone strike by the US is the fourth since Operation Zarb-e- Azb was launched suggesting a joint strategy between the two armies.

Antecedents of the militants reported killed in terms of identification and photographs have not been provided by the publicity machinery of the Pakistan Army.

According to the Express Tribune, Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) stated that six hideouts of militants were also destroyed in the drone strike.

Ground search operation as part of Operation Zarb-e- Azb continues leading to discovery of IEDs, rockets and suicide vests.

But as it, no proof of which is shown to people.
