Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) president Upendra Kushwaha on Tuesday asserted that positive discussions were held with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the issue of seat sharing, however, nothing has been finalised yet.

"We have made the Bharatiya Janata Party aware of what our party and supporters want for seat-sharing (in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls). They said we will hold discussions. Discussions were positive but nothing has been finalised yet," he said.

Clearing the air regarding his meeting with former deputy chief minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav at Arwal Circuit house, Kushwaha said that it was a public meeting and was not pre-planned.

"Media persons were also present there. Tejashwi Yadav came to my room at circuit house. I went for party-related work and Tejashwi Yadav was already present there. We met in presence of a lot of people," he said.

Kushwaha also announced that his party would soon be declaring candidates for 66 constituencies for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.

"We are declaring our candidates in 66 constituencies for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections," he said.

The single phase assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 28 to elect representatives of 230 constituencies. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
