Now, a formula to help families spend happy summer time

A new research has revealed a formula in order to avoid disagreement among family members about what to do together in summer.

According to the Daily Express, holiday resort chain, Butlins, teamed up with leading psychologist David Holmes to devise the formula for the perfect family day:

(FT+TP) x (TA+NA) - W2 / (TE)

Breakdown of formula:

FT = Family interaction time (amount of time you spend together)

NA = Number of activities you do together

TP = Types of places to visit

E = Emotional expression (number of times you laugh and hug as a family)

TA = what types of activities you do

W = the great British weather

T = Amount of technology you use together (as a negative factor)

Holmes said that it was clear that families wanted to spend time together, but the array of personalities and interests in any family dynamic meant there was unlimited potential for people to disagree on everything from the weather through to what they ate.

He further added that the formula was designed to give families a helping hand to get the best they could from their time together and that, what one would learn from one day could help him make every other day together equally as special.

Butlins MD Dermot King said that they have been helping families spend precious days together for almost 80 years and they know that time spent together was a gift, which is why their resorts provide a wide range of things for families to enjoy doing together.
