A new whistle GPS Device has been developed that can be attached to a pet's collars and then it sends the updates to owner's smartphones, helping them to keep track of their pets.

Ben Jacobs, founder and CEO said that their Whistle Activity Monitor and GPS, which uses Sub-ghz and is very small in size from competing devices, collects data for both health as well as loss prevention, ABC News reported.

They are certainly in favor of dogs being micro chipped but that surrounds lot of factors like the pet has to find its way to a vet or animal clinic and their information has to be accessible to whatever database that business is using, he added.

The device costs 129 dollars, plus a 5-dollar monthly service fee to sync insights to the smartphone app.
