The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case related to the multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam against former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha.
The apex court, which also sought a detailed reply from both parties by February 24, had earlier refused to grant interim bail to Kushwaha. The court also asked him to appear before it after four months.
It was alleged that huge sums of money were siphoned off by politicians, bureaucrats and doctors from the funds meant for the NRHM.
Kushwaha, who was the minister during the BSP rule, was arrested on March 3, 2012 for his alleged involvement in this case.
