Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered the stoppage of tree cutting or a beer factory in Balrampur area of Odisha's Dhenkanal district.
The Chief Minister has also directed the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) to investigate the matter, reads an official statement.
The development comes after hundreds of women from Balrampur village clashed with police on Saturday in Jhinkargadi forest while protesting against the cutting of trees.
The scuffle took place after the protesting women were forcibly removed from the site by the police.
