Hoping for Team India's success against Australia, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said the Men in Blue should bring the World Cup home once again.

"Our hopes are same to the last seven matches, that Team India should be successful, come in finals and bring back the Cup in finals. The beginning has been good. Australia has lost one wicket," Abdullah said.

"Cricket is such a game where it is not a player who wins the match. All the 11 players have to play their part. It will be very unfair on the part of other players if I choose any one of them as my favourite. I like all the 11 players and hope they all perform well," he added.

Abdullah also took to Twitter to share his feelings for the team.

"That was what a collective groan sounds like. Not to worry we will chase down the target after restricting the #Aussies #NotGivingItBack," he tweeted.

Today's match today pits four-times champions Australia, the top-ranked team in one-day cricket, against defending champions India.

Fans across the country are holding special prayers for the Indian cricket team.

The winners today will go on to face the other co-hosts New Zealand next Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
