Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Monday criticised the incumbent Mufti Mohammad Sayeed after a fifth civilian was shot dead in Sopore by unknown gunmen in the last two weeks.

The National Conference leader took to twitter to share his views.

"Another shooting in Sopore! It's going from bad to worse there & yet apologists for this govt & it's CM will tell you things are great in JK," he posted.

On Sunday, a former militant was shot at by unidentified persons. He was reportedly rushed to the hospital, before he succumbed to his injuries. This shooting was the latest in a string of similar incidents in Sopore.
