Milos Forman, who won Academy Awards for two of his films - 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'Amadeus' - passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday.
The news was confirmed by his third wife, Martine, to a Czech News Agency. Adding to the news, Martine revealed that at his end, Forman was surrounded by his whole family and close friends.
Forman made his debut in 1954 but his legendary status was cemented with 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest', a film about a psychiatric institution, and 'Amadeus', his biopic of composer Mozart. Both of these films won 13 Oscars.
Some of his other best-known works include 'Hair', 'The People vs Larry Flint', 'Ragtime', and 'Taking Off'.
