Somerset's Jamie Overton would be joining his twin brother Craig in the England squad for the remainder of the two matches of the ODI series against New Zealand.
Craig, who had been earlier included in as replacement for Chris Jordan, however, did not play in the match which the tourists won at Southampton.
Fast bowler Jamie has now been included in for Liam Plunkett who is suffering from a thigh strain.
Excited with the opportunity, Jamie said that he hadn't played much cricket this year, but "obviously" they had seen something in him, the BBC reported.
He added that he and his brothers always had a bit of rivalry which has benefited both of them a lot.
Both Overton brothers have represented the England Under-19 and Lions sides but neither of them has played for the senior team.
Overtons would become the first twins to play for England's senior team in the same match if they both appear against New Zealand in the upcoming game.
