Former Sri Lankan captain and current head coach, Marvan Atapattu, has suggested that his side will hold a psychological advantage over Pakistan in the upcoming series due to the absence of ace spinner Saeed Ajmal.
Describing Ajmal as Pakistan's main bowling weapon, Atapattu said that the spinner's absence is a psychological advantage for Sri Lanka as he had given his opponents a lot of 'sleepless nights' at his peak, the Dawn reported.
Atapattu, however, maintained that his side wouldn't underrate Ajmal-less Pakistan bowling attack despite heading into the series on the back of a confident frame of mind.
Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for a series of three Tests, five one-day internationals and two Twenty 20 matches, with the first Test starting on Wednesday.
