Following the recent militant attacks in Pakistan, the army has spoken about jointly fighting terrorism with Afghanistan.

The development comes after the Afghan Foreign Ministry made a demand to arrest and handover 85 leaders of the Taliban, the Haqqani Network and other terrorist groups.

The ministry also demanded action on 32 alleged terrorist training centres and also issued a warning that continued violence could push Kabul to seek international sanctions against terrorist groups and their supporters.

Earlier, Pakistan had also handed over a similar list of 76 Pakistani terrorists based in Afghanistan.

According to the Dawn, a statement, issued by the Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, said, "Pakistan and Afghanistan have fought against terrorism and shall continue this effort together."

Meanwhile, the Afghan foreign ministry has said it hoped to cooperatively work with Pakistan against terrorism under the 'Quadrilateral' framework that also included the United States of America and China. It also said Pakistan had positively received the Afghan lists.
