A Pakistani fund raising event in London witnessed commotion and hubbub on Sunday night (November 25) when the security staff pushed away Zafar Iqbal Kalanauri from the main hall. He is reportedly the Special Assistance to Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court Mian Saqib Nisar, also came with him from Pakistan to attend the fund raisers with him.
His duty is to warm up the atmosphere in favour of CJP Saqib Nisar and to praise him mentioning his legal decisions for the 'benefit' of the country and people. His speech was full of mockery but the audience kept clapping just to please the chief justice.
During the last session of the dinner event, when CJP Saqib Nisar was meeting the people from table to table, Zafar Iqbal jumped the queue and tried to move along with the CJP. Security was very tight and security men stopped him, that made Zafar Iqbal angry and furious. He started abusing the staff upon which he was pushed away and was dragged away from the main hall.
CJP remained silent and preferred not to attempt to save his personal assistant from the security staff.
According to sources, CJP Saqib Nisar also fell down from his seat during the scuffle but organisers have denied the report though a footage clearly shows his tumbling from chair and straying people in upset mood.
Pakistan's acting high commissioner Mohammad Ayub, First Secretary (Press) Muneer Ahmed, ISI Chief (local) Sher Abbas and Commercial Counsellor Sajid Raja were also present at the occasion.
