Pakistan and China have reaffirmed to work closely with the Afghan Government in their efforts to bring peace and stability in the country.
This came after a meeting between Pakistan Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi was held in Beijing yesterday, reports Tolo news.
According to reports, Aziz is in China to attend the fifth Foreign Ministers meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Apart from reviewing bilateral ties and exchanging views on regional and international developments, including Afghanistan, both leaders recognised the importance of promoting Quadrilateral Consultative Group (QCG) in facilitating an Afghan-led reconciliation process.
The statement comes days after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that his government no longer sought Pakistan's help with bringing the Taliban to the peace talks table.
