Pak orders indefinite shutdown of government offices near LoC

Unprovoked firing from the Indian army is the reason behind the step, says Pak

Pakistan has ordered a complete shutdown of all its government offices within three kilometres of the Line of control (LoC) amid what it called continuous unprovoked firing from the Indian Army.

The Express Tribune reports that Pakistan government passed the orders to close all its government offices near the LoC for an indefinite period after two women were allegedly killed and several others wounded in Kashmir in senseless firing from Indian border.

The two nations had agreed to a ceasefire along the LoC in November 2003, but the cross-border violation that led to the killings of five Indian soldiers on August 6 on the border of Poonch district has strained the relations between the two South Asian rivals.

However, Pakistan has reiterated reconciliation efforts to resolve all disputes with India through peace talks.
