Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday arrived in Afghan capital city of Kabul on one-day visit.

The premier is accompanied by Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP), Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and National Security Advisor Nasir Janjua among other officials.

A guard of honour was presented to the premier at the Afghan presidential palace upon arrival, reported Geo TV.

The delegation will hold talks with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and other senior officials in the Afghan capital.

The talks will focus on consolidating bilateral political, economic, security and counter-terrorism cooperation, return of Afghan refugees, combating drug production and narco-trade, the Afghan peace process and regional political and security situation, according to several media reports.

Earlier this week a high-level Pakistani delegation, headed by Tehmina Janjua, has reached Afghanistan to hold talks with Afghan authorities on the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).

According to the report, Abbasi's visit follows an invitation by Ghani. It comes in light of Pakistan backing Ghani's peace offering to the Taliban.
