Pak says elections in Kashmir no alternative to right of self-determination of Kashmiris

Any elections in Kashmir are not an alternative to the exercise of their right of self-determination, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam has said.

The comments from Aslam came while addressing the weekly press briefing at the ministry of foreign affairs in Islamabad on Thursday.

According to the Express Tribune, she added that this was the position of the United Nations Security Council resolutions as well.

In response to a question regarding negative propaganda in Indian media following the attack on journalist Hamid Mir in Karachi, she said that Indian media have a tendency to indulge in propaganda against Pakistan, the report added.
