Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reportedly announced that the decision to grant India the status of Most-Favoured Nation (MFN) has been put on the backburner for now.
Sharif said that India was showing reluctance when it came to resolving the Kashmir issue and proposed a third-party intervention for the same.
Sharif said that the decision to grant India the MFN status was postponed following lack of consensus, adding that he had directed his team to talk to all stakeholders and develop consensus on the matter, the Dawn reported.
The Pakistan prime minister added that the decision was also deferred due to elections in India because Pakistan did not want to favor single political party in India.
