The Pakistan Cricket Board has refused to entertain out-of-favour opener Ahmed Shehzad's plea seeking his inclusion in the training camp for the upcoming England tour.

Shehzad was omitted from the 35-man camp starting from May 13 in Abbotabad on disciplinary grounds. According to the Dawn, the maverick opener believes his fine performances in the recently concluded Pentangular Cup should be taken into consideration.

However, the PCB, who have shown leniency towards undisciplined cricketers over a lengthy period, turned down Shehzad's request citing an array of disciplinary issues by the opener.

Explosive batsman Umar Akmal have also been dropped for the same reason as chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and newly appointed South African coach Mickey Arthur had earlier expressed that they would be tough on discipline.

Pakistan will play the first of the four Tests from July 13, followed by a five-match One-day International series and a T20 match.
