The nine-member Lok Sabha Committee probing whether Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann had put the security of Parliament in peril with his video today granted a two-week extension.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan announced the decision when the House assembled at 12 noon after first adjournment. The extension will be effective from tomorrow.

The AAP MP had recorded a video of the Parliament premises and uploaded it on social media, which was being seen as security breach. Cutting across party lines, Lok Sabha members demanded strict action against Mann.

Led by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, the committee comprised Meenakshi Lekhi and Satyapal Singh (both BJP), Anandrao Adsul (Shiv Sena), Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJD), Ratna De (Trinamool Congress), Thota Narasimham (Telugu Desam), K C Venugopal (Congress) and P Venugopal (AIADMK).
