Paul Walker's friend, Roger Rodas, who was driving the red Porsche the actor was in, had cheated death in another racing accident just months before the fatal crash.

The 38-year-old had earlier slammed his Ford Mustang Boss 302S into a wall due to brake malfunction while practicing for the Pirelli World Challenge in Long Beach, California, in April, the Mirror reported.

The smash caused irreparable damage to the car, but Rodas walked away uninjured.
