The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly considering inviting foreign teams after the conclusion of the World Twenty20 in a bid to revive international cricket in the country.

Pakistan, which has not hosted a high-profile series since the 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka team, initiated efforts to resume international cricket under former chairman Zaka Ashraf in 2012, hosting series against teams from British universities and Afghanistan successfully.

According to the Express Tribune, as Pakistan is not scheduled to play any series until October this year, the PCB is therefore considering various options on how to use that time constructively, with chairman Najam Sethi saying that they are looking to invite A teams or other foreign teams.

Sethi further said that they are aiming to show that the situation is not that bad and teams can visit and play in Pakistan, adding that the PCB is also holding discussions with various boards for a summer showdown.

Reposing faith in Pakistan's Test and ODI captain Misbah-ul Haq, Sethi hinted that he would stay with his decision to keep the veteran till next year's World Cup.
