The Pakistan Cricket Board will reportedly send its own security official at the ICC meeting later this month to review the security situation and arrangements in violence-torn Bangladesh, which is scheduled to host the Asia Cup and the World Twenty20 events.

Reiterating concerns over safety of the Pakistani players in Bangladesh, the PCB sent a letter, which it notified, was sent to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to clarify its position regarding the team's participation in the Asia Cup.

According to the Express Tribune, PCB's Interim Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi wrote that the PCB would send its own security official at the ICC meeting later this month to review the security situation and arrangements in the troubled country as it has reservations on the prevailing security situation in Bangladesh with specific reference to Pakistan.

Sethi further wrote that although Pakistan is 'naturally keen' to participate in the Asia Cup 2014 but will continue to assess the conditions, liaise with their government and follow its advice with regards to the security situation, adding that their participation would be dependent upon the reports that they receive in this regard.
