People of Delhi grateful to Nitish for helping ACB, says Kejriwal

Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Centre of trying to take control of Delhi's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said people of the national capital are grateful to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for sending several good officers to take charge of key responsibilities in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

"Nitish ji sent several good officers for Delhi's ACB on our request. People of Delhi are grateful to Nitish Kumar ji for helping us to strengthen Delhi's ACB...On the directions of Prime Minister, the Centre took Delhi's ACB from us, now Delhi Chief Minister does not have any control over Delhi's ACB," Kejriwal said at Bihar Samman Samaroh here.

"Now, you have to decide who is committed towards ending corruption in Delhi, whether it is Bihar Chief Minister or BJP-led government at the Centre," he added.

Kejriwal also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, "Chunaav ke pehle kuch aur bolte the, aur chunaav ke baad kuch aur bol rahe hain (He says something before the elections and something else after it)".

The event was being organized by the Delhi government in an attempt to help Nitish connect with the Delhi-based voters in Bihar.

Kejriwal and 11 AAP leaders with roots in Bihar organized the event in New Delhi to felicitate Nitish and pledge their support for the upcoming elections. The two leaders will also work out a schedule for joint public meetings.
