Incessant rain continued to dampen the third Test between Australia and West Indies as the bad weather washed out the entire third day's play at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Opting to bat first, opener Kraigg Brathwaite smashed 85 runs to help his side reach 248-7 on the second day before rain disrupted the play.

Meanwhile, Denesh Ramdin remained unbeaten on 30 and will resume his side's inning when he will come to bat on day four along with Kemar Roach.

Australia have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Test series following their 177-run win against West Indies in the second match in Melbourne.
