The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly fined Pakistan's Adnan Akmal and South African Robin Peterson 50 percent of their match fees after they were found guilty of shoving each other during the final day of the first Test between the two nations at Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
The two players had reportedly pleaded guilty of breaching the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to 'inappropriate and deliberate physical contact between players in the course of play during an international match'.
According to Sport24, the incident happened when Akmal, while trying to pick up the bail, used his shoulder and body to push Peterson, who reacted by pushing the Pakistan wicketkeeper, following which the match umpires laid down the charges upon them.
All level 2 breaches carry a minimum penalty of a minimum fine of 50 percent of applicable match fee and/or up to two suspension points, the report added.
