Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius has reportedly denied trying to intimidate a friend of his slain girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp by making a 'sinister remark' to her during the murder trial at Pretoria.

Pistorius, who is on trial for Steenkamp's murder, has been accused of trying to intimidate Steenkamp's friend Kim Myers by turning to her in court and asking 'how can you sleep at night?'.

According to The Guardian, however, the double amputee runner has flatly denied speaking to Myers, saying that he has not spoken to her or any of Steenkamp's family or friends for a year and a half.

Pistorius further said that although he walks past them in the corridors and hold doors open for them, however, they do not look at him in the eye.

However, witnesses, including a police officer, claimed they heard Pistorius as he left the dock during an adjournment and the report added that a complaint was lodged with South Africa's national prosecuting authority.

Steenkamp, a model and law graduate, was a close friend of Myers and lived with her family in the months before being shot dead by Pistorius, the report added.
