Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius' lawyers have filed court papers expressing opposition to the prosecutors' attempts to appeal against his culpable homicide conviction and sentence.
Pistorius' defence team argued that no miscalculation or error has been made by the judge, in relation to sentencing Pistorius to five years in prison for the culpable homicide of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, Sport24 reported.
Describing Pistorius sentence as 'shockingly light', National Prosecuting Authority last month said that it would appeal against Pistorius' culpable homicide conviction and the sentence he received.
It was revealed that the appeal on conviction is based on the question of law, said spokesperson Nathi Mncube in a statement.
