Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday criticised Congress for making the death of soldiers in Sunjwan terror attack a political issue.
"It is unfortunate that Congress is making politics out of the death of our soldiers," said Goyal here.
He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) never questioned the way army worked when they were in the opposition.
"The Congress even insulted soldiers, who conducted surgical strikes," he said. "The death of our soldiers is painful. The country should be together and support our soldiers," he said.
Goyal said that the nation should stand united behind the security forces and condemned Congress for "doing politics over blood and sweat of our Army persons".
The Union Minister was attending an interactive session with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers.
Goyal again took a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi's temple visit and said that people cannot be fooled.
"You cannot fool the people by just going to a temple, when the election is round the corner. The people are bound to ask, whether you visited any temple after the Gujarat election and before the Karnataka election," said Goyal.
The Karnataka assembly elections will be held in the first quarter of this year.
