UEFA boss Michel Platini has called on FIFA chief Sepp Blatter to quit the world governing body's presidency in order to solve the 'very, very, very bad' image of the organisation.
Platini believes Blatter should make room for someone else at May's presidential elections, as he believes that only a new, fresh air FIFA figurehead can cut through the consistent corruption allegations levelled against the organisation.
And the UEFA president said that he would give his backing to neither Blatter or fellow candidate Jerome Champagne in May. He said that he supported Blatter in 1998 because he thought he was the right person, but added that after five terms it's time to have some fresh air and make room for someone else, The Mirror reported.
Platini, who had confirmed in August that he would not run in next year's FIFA elections, claimed that he believes the image of FIFA is very, very, very bad and that is why Blatter must stop.
