Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today requested Union Minister Deepa Dasmunsi to end her fast to press for setting up an AIIMS-like institute in her constituency Raiganj, West Bengal.
Dr. Singh spoke to Dasmunsi, who began hunger strike here on Friday, and assured support for her demand.
"Yes, the Prime Minister called me in the morning around 9:37 a.m. He requested me to withdraw the fast. He said that we will together see that AIIMS like hospital can be set up here," Dasmunsi said.
