PM Modi's Varanasi constituency lauds his focus on 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'

The people of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi on Sunday expressed their delight to hear him talk about the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' initiative in the ninth edition of the 'Mann Ki Baat 'programme.
"Modi ji's words influence every individual. He speaks on the basis of facts.He said a new thing today about opening bank accounts for our sisters as 'raksha bandhan' gifts as per the scheme formulated by his government," said a local here.
"Every child in every household is aware about 'Mann Ki Baat'. People are glued to the TV sets for the programme. Everybody is listening to him because everyone trusts him," added another local.
The locals in Varanasi also appreciated Prime Minister Modi for laying emphasis on the importance of water conservation.
Addressing the nation on All India Radio in the ninth edition of 'Mann Ki Baat', Prime Minister Modi while talking about 'raksha bandhan' urged everybody to enroll their sisters in social security schemes worth Rs. 12 or 330 as a gift.
"Raksha bandhan is upon us. The tradition is for men to give gifts to women they consider their sisters. This raksha bandhan, as a gift, let us enroll our sisters in social security schemes worth 12 rupees or 330 rupees," he said.
Prime Minister Modi also laid emphasis on the importance of water conservation.
"A lot of people share suggestions for Mann Ki Baat. This time, a majority of people asked me to talk about the monsoon. Every drop of water is important. It is important to conserve every drop of water... Three schemes for urban development were launched: 'waste to wealth' - we need to give importance to this and take things ahead," he said.
