A day after Independent MLA Engineer Sheikh Abdul Rashid, was assaulted by several BJP legislators in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, the Congress Party on Friday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack his party MLAs in Kashmir for attacking the former.
"The Independent J and K MLA, even if he hosted a beef party, he should have not hurt the sentiments of people from another religion. But several BJP MLAs took the law into their own hands and assaulted him (Rashid) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. And if the other party MLAs would have not saved him, then probably he would have been killed, and it would have been referred to as Dadri 2. If this is the mindset of the BJP MLAs, then, we can only imagine the mindset of their party workers," Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad told ANI here.
"And yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his silence in Bihar. He should have instead sacked those MLAs in Kashmir. He should have instead taken action against the culture minister," he added.
Rashid was assaulted on Thursday for hosting a beef party at the lawns of the MLA hostel on Wednesday.
