PM Modi to join concluding ceremony of Int'l Buddhist conclave in Bodh Gaya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at Bodh Gaya on Friday to join the concluding ceremony of the three day International Buddhist conclave, which started in Delhi on Thursday.

The Prime Minister will attend the ceremony at the Bodhi tree as the head of delegates of 90 countries that include former President of Sri Lanka Chandrika Kumaratunga , besides foreign ministers of Japan, Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal, Taiwan and other Buddhist countries, the Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee ( BTMC ) confirmed.

Prime Minister Modi will attend the prayers initiated by the Lumbini Development Trust of Nepal Bhante Nigrodha at 11.15am before taking a 'parikarma' with dignitaries and visit a photo exhibition on the Buddhist heritage of Magadh.

The Prime Minister will also visit the art gallery and an exhibition of handicrafts of Magadh and inspect the holy relics of Lord Buddha at the Mahabodhi Society of India before addressing the monks and the religious heads of various countries at Mahabodhi Mahavihara at noon before he emplanes for Delhi.
