At least half six persons were reportedly detained by the police in Kathmandu Valley for protesting against the state visit of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday.
A staffer at the Kamalpokhari-based Metropolitan Police Circle said that "some" of the detainees have been kept at his office, reports the Himalayan Times.
According to sources, anti-corruption activist Sharada Bhausal is one among the detainees.
Central spokesperson of Nepal Police, DIG Hemanta Malla Thakuri, said the police headquarters had not received any report about the detention as yet.
Vehicles and as well as pedestrians were blocked from entering various roads of Kathmandu for security reasons.
