The polling in the second phase of the legislative assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday crossed the halfway mark as of 2 pm, with 53.2 percent of the voters in the state participating in the democratic process.
Among the best performing regions were the Gool Arnas, Gulabgarh and Uddhampur constituencies of the state, all three seats seeing over 60 percent of their voters cast their ballots.
However, the worst performing constituency was the Home Shalibugh, which falls under the Kulgam region of the state, seeing only 27.01 percent of its voters turn up.
Meanwhile, residents of the Khudwani Village, which also falls in the Kulgam region, participated in the boycott of the ongoing elections in the state.
Other regions of the state have so far reported no signs of protests or violence.
After a slow start, the polling has picked up pace in the state.
