A recent study has revealed that Porsche is most appealing car brand and it has topped the charts for the ninth straight year.

The Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study looks at how pleasing a new car is to own and drive in the first 90 days of ownership, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

According to the report, Porsche has topped the annual JD Power study into ownership gratification.

Porsche ranked first with a score of 884, well ahead of Audi, BMW, Land Rover and Toyota-owned luxury brand Lexus.

The Porsche Cayenne was the pick of the mid-size premium SUV segment, the report added.
