Senator Mian Raza Rabbani of the Pakistan People's Party warned that with the staggering deterioration of democracy in the country, the existence of Pakistan would be diminished under dictatorship government.

Reflecting on the ongoing situation at the Upper House, the leader said that while the supremacy of the constitution is getting rooted some forces are involved in ruining the existent system.

He further added that the role of media is like a watchdog but non-democratic forces are trying to create division among media organizations, demanding a ban on them.

According to Dawn.com, Rabbani alleged that some political and non-political forces have questioned the role of election commission; judiciary and the media in the 2013 elections while the same forces are involved into creating controversy that are working under the constitution.

Reports revealed that the senator blamed such forces for trying to derail the ongoing democratic system while he believes the results of such an attempt would ruin the federation of Pakistan as a nation.
