Prakash Jha set to direct biopic on a mathematician

Bollywood filmmaker Prakash Jha is all set to direct a biopic on the life of eminent mathematician from Bihar, Vashishtha Narayan Singh.

Confirming the news, Prakash Jha said that the mathematician is a national treasure.

"Dr. Vashishtha Narayan Singh, the brilliant mathematician from Bihar is our national treasure. His life is so inspiring, I would love to direct a biopic on him," said Jha.

Vinay Sinha, one of the producers of the movie, said that he has been reading about the life of the eminent mathematician for quite some time now.

"His story has tremendous highs and lows, and now we are all set to produce a film on him. I couldn't be happier" said an excited Vinay Sinha.

"I share my father's deep interest in the life of the genius Vashishtha Babu and that's why I am keen to make the announcement of our film to coincide with my father's birthday, which is today. And to make the announcement even more exciting, Prakash Jha has agreed to direct our dream project," another producer Priti Sinha added.

The film will be produced by Vinay Sinha and Priti Sinha and co-produced by Namrata and Amod Sinha.

A lead actor is yet to be found for the titular role.

Prakash Jha's announcement comes at a time when Hrithik Roshan is set to play the role of Anand Kumar, the Patna-based mathematician and founder of the Super 30 coaching institute.
