President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday extended his greetings on the occasion of former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed's birth anniversary.
The Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Committee is organizing the 40th National Solidarity Day to commemorate the former president's 110th birth anniversary.
"Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was a great son of India who represented the best qualities of our tradition and civilization. An ardent nationalist and able administrator, Shri Ahmed played an important role in our freedom struggle," said Mukherjee.
"His selfless service, humanism and deep sensitivity will always be remembered. On this occasion, I pay homage to this great son of India and wish the celebrations every success," he added.
