Preparations in full swing for Congress' 'Zameen Waapasi' Kisan Rally

Preparations are in full swing for the Congress Party's "Zameen Waapasi" Kisan Rally being held at the Ramlila Ground here today amid tight security.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi will address the rally, which is expected to lampoon the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government over the controversial Land Acquisition Bill.

The venue was replete with banners such as "Rahulji Sangharsh Karo, Sare Bharat ke Kisan Aap ke Sath Hai". Farmers from across the nation, specifically from the northern parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have started arriving for the event and are expected to participate wholeheartedly in it.

Both are also expected to highlight the losses and problems faced by farmers.

The party has also launched a website called 'Zameen Waapsi ', which will aim at providing information on land acquisition.

On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi met farmers from various states, including Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, outside his 12, Tughlaq Lane, residence. During the meeting, the farmers recounted their losses and appealed for help from the Congress scion.

Earlier this week, Rahul Gandhi ended his 57-day sabbatical from politics.
