President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday lauded the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for successfully conducting the scramjet engine test this morning from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikotta in Andhra Pradesh.
"Hearty congratulations ISRO on successful test of futuristic scramjet rocket engine, India is proud of you," the President tweeted.
Following the launch, the national space agency said that the test has met all the intended parameters.
The newly developed scramjet engine has been test launched onboard a RH 560 sounding rocket at 6 am.
With this, India has joined a select league of nations holding the promising technology.
