US President Barack Obama flaunted his dance moves at the National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony when he tried to groove with a little girl, dressed as an elf in Mariah Carey's performing troupe.
The President later joked that the show is always a great way to get in the holiday spirit and every year he rehearses his own little act, but organisers couldn't squeeze him into the program, yet again, ABC News reported.
While lighting up a 31-foot-tall Colorado Blue Spruce with the first family, Obama asserted that for 91 years, the national Christmas tree has stood as a beacon of light and a promise during the holiday season.
During times of peace and prosperity, challenge and change, Americans have gathered around their national tree to kick off the holiday season and give thanks for everything that makes this time of year so magical - spending time with friends and family, and spreading tidings of peace and goodwill here at home and around the world, Obama added.
