Prez extends greetings to Belarus on eve of Independence Day

President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Belarus on the eve of their Independence Day.

"On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, I have the pleasure to convey warm greetings to you and to the friendly people of the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of your Independence Day," President Mukherjee said in message to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.

"On this occasion, I recall my recent visit to your beautiful country and our meeting in Minsk on June 3, 2015. I once again thank you for the warm hospitality extended to me and to my delegation during our stay. I am confident that friendship and mutual understanding between our two countries has been further strengthened by the discussions that we held and the agreements for cooperation in various fields that were signed during my visit. I look forward to closely working with you to further strengthen the close ties between our two countries in the years to come. Please accept, Excellency, my good wishes for your personal health and happiness and for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Belarus," he added.
