The price of Petrol has been further slashed by Rs. 0.65 per litre while the diesel price remains unchanged as on Tuesday. The new rates will be effective from midnight tonight.
Petrol will now be sold at Rs. 67.86 per litre in New Delhi. The decrease in petrol price in Mumbai is Rs. 0.68 per litre and it will now cost Rs. 75.73 per litre in the city. In Kolkata the petrol price has been lowered by Rs. 0.68 per litre and it will now cost Rs. 75.46 per litre. In Chennai the petrol price has been lowered by Rs. 0.68 per litre and it will now cost Rs.70.87 per litre.
According to media reports reduction in petrol price was attributed to the downward trend seen in international petrol prices.
Earlier in August, Petrol prices were cut by 1 rupee and 82 paise a litre while diesel prices were hiked by 50 paise per litre.
