Britain's Prince of Wales, Charles, visited the Sufi shrine, Haji Ali Dargah, here on Monday.
Prince Charles, known to have a profound interest in Islamic art and culture, visited the holy shrine amid tight security and was accompanied by delegates and officials.
Haji Ali is a famous tourist destination situated a few hundred meters ahead of the shoreline of the Arabian Sea.
The shrine is the resting abode of the Muslim saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.
Prince Charles was briefed about the restoration work on the monument.
Prince Charles is on a nine-day-visit to the country with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.
On Sunday, Prince Charles and Camilla participated in the Remembrance Day ceremonies at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mumbai and visited the British War cemetery in Pune.
They became the first royal couple to commemorate Remembrance Sunday in India.
The royal couple's visit ends on November 14 when they leave for Sri Lanka to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Colombo.
This is their third official visit to India. The trip is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between London and New Delhi.
