Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has said he will not tolerate or accept any profiling of Pakhtuns, as it was his view that as a community they were more Pakistani than most.

Addressing the Pakhtoon Welfare Organisation (PWO) here on Tuesday, Khattak said Pakhtuns were Pakistani and considered Punjabis, Baloch and Sindhis their brothers.

He was particularly critical of the Punjab provincial government's decision to register Pakhtuns.

He pointedly asked whether Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was more Pakistani than every Pakhtun in the country, and cautioned that historically when Pakhtuns are pushed to the wall, they turn rebels.

He said he would write to the interior ministry about the discrimination being meted out to the Pakhtuns in Punjab because of their association with the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

The Dawn quoted him, as saying Pakhtuns themselves were the victims of terrorism.
