South African bowling coach Allan Donald has returned home from the country's tour of UAE to play Pakistan because of undisclosed family reasons and high performance coach Vincent Barnes is set to replace him.
According to Sport25, team manager Mohammed Moosajee revealed that Donald had been granted extended leave of absence and he needs time to sort things out.
Barnes, who is also one of the selectors, was due to join the team for the one-day series against Pakistan, but Moosajee disclosed that he will now arrive earlier, the report said.
Hashim Amla is already in South Africa to be with his wife, who is expecting the couple's second child and it's not clear whether Proteas' top batsman will return before the second Test, which begins on Wednesday, the report added.
Pakistan leads the two-match test series 1-0 after a seven-wicket victory at Abu Dhabi, according to the report.
