The second Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka ended in a draw after being affected by frequent showers of rain.

South Africa has won the two-match Test series between the two teams after winning the first Test and with the second one having ended in a draw.

The hosts had put up a score of 421 and 229 in their two innings, which was followed by South Africa putting up 282 and 159 in their innings.

For the visitors, Vernon Philander and Imran Tahir remained unbeaten on their individual scores of 27 and four respectively. South Africa just had two wickets left to bat and had the Sri Lankan bowlers managed to grab two more wickets, the victory would have been theirs to claim.

Quinton de Kock managed to put up 37 runs for the visitors before he lost his wicket as Kithuruwan Vithanage caught him on slow orthodox bowler Rangana Herath's delivery.

Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene caught South African skipper Hashim Amla on his individual score of 25 on Dilruwan Perera's delivery, and A B de Villiers fell victim to Herath's delivery as he was bowled out on his individual score of 12.

Faf du Plessis could not keep up on the pitch much long as he was caught by Jayawardene for his individual score of 10 on Herath's delivery.

Perera claimed J P Duminy's wicket as well for his individual score of three as the batsman got leg before wicket on the right-arm offbreaker's delivery.

Niroshan Dickwella caught Dale Steyn for his individual score of six of Herath's delivery.

Herath claimed five of the eight wickets while Perera claimed three wickets. South Africa won the two-match series 1-0.
